What's new....

So I've been super busy these days! So much to do, so little time to get it all done! It's been a loooonnngggg time since I've blogged, a lot has gone on, we have since moved from our cute little "closet" in a cute little neighborhood, to a house in the country with lots of room to roam! I'm loving every minute of it, I've got room to work now, our dog has room to run and run, and kids and daddy have lots of room to relax and play! So in the middle of moving and packing I had some time to work on a few projects, but since we've moved, I've not had any free time, but I'm making time today! It's about time! I deserve some alone time to destress with my paint brush, and a beautiful shade of turquoise!

Back in the saddle again!

So, it seems ive taken quite a bit of time off from creating. With summer coming to an end and school starting, putting our house on the market, its all just been one giant time consumig monster! But, im done, today im for sure going to pick up my paint brush, I know I said this yesterday, but today is,the day. I cant believe how much ive missed painting and creating. I have plans to open up a 2nd location at the Market on 81st and Harvard, hopefully by the first of september, this is my goal anyway. Well im off to crack open a can of paint, open a brand new paint brush, and attack a piece of furniture!

Black Beauty

Distressed Turquoise Beauty

I love love love this piece, Ive been contemplating taking it home, I cant stop thinking about how fabulous it would look in my living room!

Sassy Silver

I was a little out of my comfort zone when I painted this piece. She said she wanted Silver. Silver I repeated.. It took me several cans of paint before I finally found the perfect silver color to use.

Distressed turquoise dresser

I just recently finished this piece, it has been my very favorite piece I've done so far. This piece was handmade by Annas very talented father in law, such a great piece! I was also able to use my most favorite color, turquoise!

She has not yet seen her piece finished, only a picture, My hope is she will love it as much as I do! Her plans for the piece is to put it in her nursery, I think it will be a beautiful piece they will be able to enjoy for many years to come!

Lucky Junkin.....

I have a room full of projects waiting patiently, waiting for thier transformation. My brain is so full of fun ideas to transform my pieces into something so amazing, I love bringing out the personality and potential in cast aways. On a great day of  lucky junkin, comes the hunt, the find, then the transformation. My most favorite thing in the world, is when I find a lonely, unloved piece of furniture, the pieces I usually fall in love with are the pieces way in the corner, hiding, just waiting show the world all of the spirit and potential it still has left to give. First comes the hunt, junkin at flea markets, thrift stores, curb finds, craigslist, neighbors, opportunities are endless, my eyes are always on the hunt for the perfect piece. Then the Find, when I spot something, I will do whatever, to make sure it comes home with me! Once its mine, I turn loose on it, while the ideas are still fresh and ready to take over!  Pink, turquoise, blue, green, yellow, or white, on this particular project, Oceans blue won. Transformation begins right away, first I clean it up, take off all doors, hinges, drawer pulls, any nails or screws. Paint is everywhere, paint brushes galore, sanding, distressing, more paint, and a final touch of poly for protection, new hardware, and voila... Transformation is complete!!! Ready to take to the store and add to the rest of my pieces. My most dreaded moment, falling in love, then letting go! Which has become my worst habit so far.
M finished product, Im real proud!! She will be on her way soon to On the Corner, where she will await patiently for her special someone to fall in love!!!

Long Time!!!

Hello friends, its been a very long time since ive logged on and written something, to be honest, i have logged on several times, but for some reason, I seem to get a little intimidated with a blank screen, and the thought of me having to fill it up with my thoughts is kinda overwhelming!!! Well Im here now, and now that Ive typed a few sentences, I can get started.....Business has been good! This first year started off with a good start, theres been alot of interest in people wanting me to do thier furniture for them, which makes me happy to know people like and appreciate my work. There has also been alot of interest in whether or not I have a portfolio of all my pieces I have done, and the answer is sadly, no. So, in the midst of my crazy work schedule right now, I am trying to put together some sort of portfolio with pictures of all the pieces I have completed. However its been difficult for me, because Im not sure where to start, once again the blank pages are overwhelming and intimidating! So, if anyone has any suggestions, Im open!!! I will post new pics of finished product, so keep your eyes open!
